Carl B. Townes

Richmond-Carl B. Townes, 89, of the Alexander Reed Rd. passed away on September 22, 2006 at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta.

He was f born in Randolph, on June 30, 1917 the son of Merle and Marion Townes and attended local schools.

He enjoyed Gardening, (grew cantaloupes this year successfully in his garden & devoured them while hospitalized ) Cooking, ( could make some awesome corn chowder ) Carpentry projects ( house repairs and renovations ), and was a gifted mechanic ( took an outboard motor apart once piece by piece, and put it back together again; it worked better than it did originally- when it was new).

Carl was awarded a Silver Badge by The Grand Lodge of the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers for 25 years of loyal service.

He worked for Bath Iron Works and Pejepscot Paper Company where he was a Machine Shop Foreman.

Carl was predeceased by his loving wife Martha

He is survived by a devoted son, Bradford Townes and his wife Mary of Richmond, daughter, Pamela Gartley and her husband Bill of Tacoma Lake and 3 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren.

There will be no funeral services. Internment at Hillside Cemetery in Lisbon Falls
