George S. Lewis Jr.

Richmond-George S. Lewis Jr., 64, of Front St. passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at his residence.

He was born on September 19, 1943 in Irvington, New Jersey the son of George and Ruth (Vollmer) Wiman and after his father’s death was later adopted by his step father George Lewis.

George grew up on a farm in Strong and attended local schools. He later went on to the Air Force Academy, St. Louis Engineering College and the University of Maine.

George was a certified EMT and helped start the volunteer ambulance service in Milan, New Hampshire. He also, taught CPR and advanced Red Cross in Maine and New Hampshire. George was a popular DJ in the 80's performing many weddings and parties.

George was an engineer for several northern New England radio stations including WTOS, WLAM, WKJT just to name a few. He later went on to work for Bath Iron Works for 25 years.

He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years Jacqueline Quinnam Lewis of Richmond, daughters Elizabeth Lewis-Bowie and husband Jason of Richmond, Patricia Ridenour and husband Charles of Millinocket, son Scott Lewis and his wife Jennifer of Gardiner, sisters Sharon Monroe and husband Leroy of Strong, Nancy Lewis of Strong, aunt Doris Jack of New Jersey, uncles Kenneth and Raymond Wiman, 6 grandchildren, 1 nephew and 3 nieces.

A memorial visitation will take place on Saturday, September 29th from 2 to 4pm at Kincer Funeral Home with military honors being provided at 3pm.
