Pearl Marie Guiou

Gardiner-Pearl Marie Guiou, 88, of 154 Dresden Ave. passed away on Monday, October 1, 2007 at Alzheimer’s Care Center, Gardiner.

She was born in Pittsfield, Maine, on January 18, 1919 the daughter of Elmer and Mertie (Crommwell) Dore.

Pearl worked as a cutter for Taylor and Ames shoes for many years. She was a past worthy matron of the Mount Carmel Chapter #51. Pearl enjoyed sewing, bowling, and the legion.

Pearl was predeceased by her beloved husband Charles E. Guiou and great grandson Brock Hurley.

She is survived by her daughter’s Jean Guiou Curtis of Enumclaw, Washington, Claudia Hurley and her husband Harry of Richmond, grandchildren Bruce Hurley, of Richmond, Kathy Hurley Nash of Bowdoinham, Chuck Hurley of Tecumseh, Michigan, Brian Hurley of Richmond, Kelli Curtis-Brouillet of Washington State, Kerry Curtis of California , Kendon Curtis of Georgia and Kris Curtis of Florida. Eighteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

A graveside service will take place on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 12 pm at the Old Maine Veteran’s Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta.
