Patrick “Pat” Leroy McMullen

Bowdoinham-Patrick L. McMullen, 73, of the Fisher Rd. passed away on Monday, January 21, 2008 at Maine Medical Center, Portland.

He was born in Biddeford on March 17, 1934 the son of Samuel and Luria (Langevin) McMullen. Pat graduated from Thornton Academy in 1952.

Pat proudly served his country in the United States Navy as an electrician, during the Korean War. During his stint in the military he was also the light weight boxing champion.

He married Margaret “Margie” Gile on March 15, 1959. Together they started Rock-A-Dry diaper service in 1962. And later started Bowdoinham Linen Service, which is still in operation today.

Pat was 47 year member of Bowdoinham Village Lodge #26 Masons, the Council, Commandry and the Chapter. He was also a member of the Kora Shrine, American Legion, Topsham, Jay Cee’s, past Cub Scout Leader, Eastern Star Electa Chapter #2 of Bowdoinham, Past advisory board member of Assembly #6 of Bath, 3 year member of the planning board for the town of Bowdoinham, Grand Cross Rainbow Girls and a past advisory board member of Parkview Hospital, Brunswick.

He enjoyed hunting, flying and being in the woods.

Pat was predeceased by his parents, brothers Edward McMullen, Samuel McMullen, and Pete McMullen. He is survived by his beloved wife Margie McMullen of Bowdoinham, daughter Patricia McMullen of New Hampshire, son Gile McMullen of Bowdoinham, daughters Beth Owens of Virginia, Amy Merritt of Bowdoinham, brother Richard McMullen of Saco, sister Polly Burnham of Florida, 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, January 25th from 4 to 7pm, with a Masonic Service being performed at 6pm at Kincer Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 26th at 2pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the spring in the Village Cemetery.
