West Bath-Barbara J. Alexander Page, 70, formally of Topsham passed away Saturday, Feb 07, 2009 after a courageous battle with Cancer.

She died peacefully at her home in West Bath; which she shared with her daughter.

Barbara was born December 25, 1938 in Lewiston, Maine, the daughter of Archibald M. Ayer and Margaret E. (Carr) Ayer. She attended Lisbon High School, then went on to marry and raise three children.

She was a homemaker for many years until she started a career in caring for the elderly at the Bath Nursing Home. She then advanced her career to Administrative functions at the Falmouth By The Sea Care Facility. Barbara later became a part of the Rousseau Enterprises organization as Office Manager at Dionne Commons and remained employed there until her death.

Barbara found an extended family within the Rousseau Enterprises Organization, with special consideration to the Dionne Commons staff and residents. One of her many enjoyments during the day was to intermingle with and play chair volleyball with the residents/staff. Her office was always open for a visitor and a smile always received.

She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and much adored great grandchildren. She enjoyed dancing, playing Bingo, Email and playing Cribbage on the Internet and reading Autobiographies. She truly enjoyed the Christmas holiday season.

The oldest of 6 siblings, she was predeceased by a brother, Allen "Buddy" Ayer, sister Kathleen Bernson and a stepmother Marie Ayer.

Surviving are her step father, Chester L. Gott of Springhill, FL., sister Patricia Lapointe of Danvers, Ma., Two sons; William G. Alexander Jr, and Steven W. Alexander and his wife Jane; all of Topsham. A daughter, Carol J. Alexander of West Bath, grandchildren; Ryan Trudell of Lewiston, Tracey Clinton and her husband Jay of Hawaii, Alyssa Briere and her husband DJ of Topsham, Steven W. Alexander of Boothbay, great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and nephews.

There will be no funeral services. A private gathering will be held in her honor.
