Kenneth M. Swasey

Dresden-Kenneth Maurice Swasey, 86, of the River Rd. died on September 8, 2010 at Glenridge Nursing Home, Augusta.

He was born on July 12, 1924 the son of Richard and Vera (Brown) Swasey.

Ken was a past member of the local snowmobile and motorcycle clubs.

He enjoyed working in his garden, camping, snowmobiling, riding his motorcycle and especially time spent with his grandchildren.

Ken worked at Brunswick Naval Air Station as an electrician and later on the crash and rescue team at the base for over 25 years. He also worked for Green Point Farm, Goranson’s and as a school bus driver in Wiscasset.

He was predeceased by parents, first wife Arlene Swasey, brothers Walter, Irving, Donny, Robert Jr., sisters Phyllis, Vera and Mary. Ken is survived by his beloved wife Doris Swasey of Dresden, daughters Rebecca Cromwell of Westport, Tamara Swasey-Ballou of Camden, Wanda Nixon of Windsor, step son Dale Hinote of Ohio, brother Richard Swasey of Wayne, sister Barbara Holley of California, half sister Eleanor Rippoll of Florida, grandchildren Anthony, Sara, Ben, Todd, Misti, Nicholas, Taylor, 12 great grandchildren and a 13th due in December.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation on Monday, September 13th from 6 to 7:30pm at Kincer Funeral Home. A graveside service will take on Tuesday, September 14th at 1pm at Forest Hill Cemetery, Dresden with military honors.
