Richmond-Hugh N. Lancaster, Sr., 84, of the Stable Rd. died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Maine Medical Center, Portland.

He was born in Bowdoinham on May 28, 1929 the son of Ernest and Mabel Lancaster.

Hugh proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He had many occupations but enjoyed being a meat cutter at Pierces Country Store.

He enjoyed golfing, family sporting events, traveling, Red Sox, Lobster, Christian Fellowship, especially time spent with family and sharing the gospel. Hugh was a member of the Kairos Ministry Team, American Legion Post 132, attended the Methodist Church, and attended Shepherd of Faith senior dinners. He also loved playing card games and was very competitive.

He was predeceased by his parents, sisters Shirley, Barbara, Roberta, Josephine, and brother Horace. Hugh is survived by his wife of 62 years Sarah Lancaster, daughters Susan Dickey and husband Richard, Jo-Ellen Scribner and her husband Rick, Hugh Lancaster, Jr., and wife Suzi, Paul Lancaster and wife Cheryl, grandchildren Karyn, Elisa, Katelyn, Elizabeth, Rob, Andy, Kyle, Ciarra, Brandon, Brooke, Bryanne, great grandchildren Christian, Harmony, Grayson, Hunter, Brooks, Kingston, Sarah, Mikala, Chasity, Becca, Angie and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, June 14th from 4 to 7pm at the funeral home.

A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, June 16th at 3pm at the Dresden Richmond United Methodist Church with a burial to follow at the Bay View Cemetery, Bowdoinham. A gathering will take place at the Church following the burial service.
