Emma Haferman

Portland- Emma Haferman, 44, of Baxter Blvd died on Saturday, October 11, 2014.
 
She was born on July 12, 1970 in Eastport Maine, the daughter of Kenneth Haferman and Peesh Rewak.
 
Emma was a member of Creative Works of Portland.  She was an advocate for developmentally challenged persons through the “Speaking Up For Us" program.
 
She enjoyed creating tie dye apparel, attending Pine Tree Camp where she shared laughter and love with her friends. She loved swimming, skiing and rock climbing.
 
Emma worked for a time at Maine Medical Center.
 
She is survived by her loving family: mother and step-father Peesh Rewak and Paul McClanahan, father Kenneth Haferman and Jan, brothers and sister Jonas Haferman and Tina Hardy Maz, Anna Haferman and Kyle Miller, Augie Haferman and Kim Chapman, Ben Haferman and Jes Hagelin, uncle and aunt Ted Rewak and Joanne Kelhart, cousin Max Rewak, nephews and niece, Lucas Haferman, Leo Haferman, Hailey Haferman and Ryder Haferman.
 
A celebration of life was at Seaside Rehabilitation Center on Tuesday, October 14th.

Emma’s gift was to teach us to see beauty, grace, dignity, and humor through plain wrapping.
