Johanna Sue Smith

Johanna SmithSANFORD FL- Johanna Sue Smith, 48, passed away unexpectedly on April 1, 2015 while relocating with her family to Florida.  She was born on January 7, 1967 in Whittier CA, to John Ellis Linkel and Angela Suzanne Linkel, the seventh of 12 children.

Johanna attended Notredame High School in Fitchburg Mass as well as Fitchburg Sate where she received a bachelor’s degree in accounting.  For the past 5 years Johanna was employed with Independence Association where she provided an invaluable service to her clients! Jo was a true caregiver and loved her work and clients.  Jojo was a devoted mother, not only to her own children, and never hesitated to take on a few more who needed a loving home! FAMILY was everything to her. She loved being surrounded by children and always gave so much of herself to spread happiness.  Jojo loved writing stories and sketching.  She was a very energetic and spontaneous person, always a kid at heart.  She loved the outdoors, the ocean and especially camping!  Jojo really focused on the simple things in life.  Those little moments that most people take for granted.  One of the special highlights in her life was watching her daughter Abigail marry her childhood sweetheart as well as being present for the birth of her first grandchild, baby Chris.  She was always full of pride to see her sons, Daniel and Vincent overcome many of life’s hurdles and become strong independent young men.

She is survived by her loving children, Abigail Goyette and her husband Chris, and the light of her life, baby Chris; Daniel Smith, and Vincent Murray; her parents, John and Sue Linkel; her sisters, Cindy Linkel, Ava Simmons, Marcia Ready and Stacie Linkel; her brothers, Dion Linkel, Lance Linkel and Donna, Guy Linkel, Corey Linkel and Jay, Jason Linkel, and Jak Linkel and Jen; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
