Olive E. Frizzle

BOWDOINHAM – Olive E. Frizzle, 101, of Bowdoinham died on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 in Brunswick, Maine.  She was born on January 25, 1915 in Waterboro, Maine, the daughter of Leon and Mildred (Parker) Thompson.  She was a graduate of Waterboro High School where she was a star basketball player.  She was the Championship Foul Shooter for York County.      



Olive was married to Allan Frizzle in Kennebunk, Maine on June 16, 1935. 

She worked for the Fox Hollow Girls School in Lenox, MA as a House Mother before working for the United States Postal Service for 10 years as a Postal Clerk.  She was a member of the Pythian Sisters McDonald Temple, and the Bowdoinham Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.  At the age of 101 Olive was the recipient of the Boston Post Cane. 

Olive and her late husband, Allan, enjoyed spending time together covering the southern part of the state buying and selling at various flea markets. 

She was predeceased by her parents, her sisters, Bernice Thompson and Lois McDonald, her brother, Clinton Thompson, and a grandson, Gary Frizzle. 

She is survived by her sons, Gordon Frizzle and his wife Akemi of Bowdoinham, and Allan Frizzle Jr. and his wife Margaret of Bowdoinham; 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Bayview Cemetery in Bowdoinham with Dan Joyce officiating.  A reception will follow at the Bowdoinham Fire Department at 57 Post Road.
