Beverly Ann Van Buren

Beverly Ann “Bev” Van Buren has gone to join her Father who art in Heaven. She passed away suddenly in her home before bed on Nov. 1, 2016.

She was born on November 5, 1950 to Marjory (Chase) and Edward Newton. She had 7 siblings: Kathy, Geri, Dottie( deceased), Charles, Virginia, Peggy, and Danny. Bev is survived by her son, Doug Alley and her daughter Peggy Sirois as well as stepchildren, whom she loved as her own, Kathy, Brenda, Susie, and Harry and their children. She had 4 grandsons, William, Arnold, Artemas and Archer. She is predeceased by her son David and daughter Angela. She was married to Ralph Alley and Harry Van Buren and shared much of her life with her love, Kempy Cressey. She is loved by her nieces and nephews who cherish their wonderful memories of her. Bev has a large and loving extended family as well.

Bev worked for the Bath School department for many years where she touched many lives. She was a talented writer and poet who loved to read to and entertain children. Beverly was kind, witty, and generous, but she suffered many challenges due to her mental and physical illness. Bev suffered a great deal of loss in her life. As a result, she pushed many people away throughout her life in an effort to deal with loss on her terms. If she pushed you away and you felt guilty, please don’t. It just means that she loved you.

Please join us to celebrate Bev’s life on her birthday, Saturday November 5th from noon to 3 pm at Knights of Columbus on Middle St. in Bath. We are having a potluck party, where we will rejoice in our memories of her life.

In lieu of flowers please donate to the family fund at https://www.gofundme.com /memorial-fund-for-beverlyvanburen.
