She and her husband, Charles, Sr. ran a boarding home for many years caring for first State patients, then Veterans. They made the boarders an integral part of their big family and taught their children many valuable lessons through the years of their service. Their home was a real home to the people that came into their home.

She was an exceptional person to all who knew and loved her. She was a strong woman, a faithful believer in God and the teachings of the Bible. She tried to instill this faith in her children and grand-children. She enjoyed camping, fly fishing, making bread, card and board games, family gatherings and listening to hymns. To the children she was known as “Gram,” “Grammy,” and even “Crazy Grammy Lamoreau of Pittston” for her wit, spirit and the joy she took in playing tricks on the grand and great-grandchildren. Most recently, she was referred to as “Grammy Larrio” due to Lamoreau being a difficult name for a toddler to pronounce.
