Dr. Vance L. Horne, DMD

Dr. Vance L. Horne, DMD, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, Air Force veteran, dentist, craftsman, and outdoorsman, passed away unexpectedly on July 1, 2026, at the age of 71.
Born on August 3, 1954, in Milo, Maine, Vance lived a life marked by service, dedication, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for family, nature, and meaningful work.
Vance proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before pursuing a distinguished career in dentistry. As a respected dentist, he cared for countless patients throughout his career, earning the trust and admiration of those he served. Following his retirement from dentistry, he embraced the pursuits that brought him the greatest joy.
An accomplished woodworker, Vance found fulfillment in creating with his hands and spending time in his woodworking shop. He loved the outdoors and found peace in nature, whether working on the farm, enjoying time outside with family, or simply appreciating the beauty around him.
He especially loved sailing, finding freedom and tranquility on the water, and cherished traveling with his beloved wife, Annamaria, creating treasured memories together. At Little Acres Farm, he found happiness in farming, woodworking, and spending time with those he loved most, especially his grandchildren.
Vance will be remembered for his quiet strength, generous spirit, steady presence, and deep love for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of service, craftsmanship, adventure, and unwavering devotion.
He is survived by his loving wife, Annamaria Horne; his stepsons, Richard Harris, Michael Harris, Daniel Harris, and Matthew Harris; his daughter, Amanda Marie Cuss; his son-in-law, James Richard Cuss; and his cherished grandchildren, Landon Harris, Eva Marie Cuss, Penelope Roxanne Cuss, and Anna Mae Cuss, along with extended family members and many dear friends whose lives were touched by his kindness and wisdom.
A private celebration of Vance's life will be held at a later date.
