Nancy Pottle
Nancy Pottle (Chateauvert), lovingly known as Mimi, 78, of West Gardiner, Maine, went home to be with her Savior on August 5, 2026.
Born in Lewiston on May 2, 1948, Nancy was the daughter of Carroll and Doris Chateauvert.
Mimi's greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She loved baking for others, cheering on the Celtics, and serving her church. She welcomed everyone with a warm smile and hug, showing special love and compassion to children, babies, and anyone in need of comfort. Mimi’s laughter and love could fill a room.
A natural caregiver, Mimi and her husband, David (Papa), opened their home and hearts for more than 30 years to children and adults with special needs. Whether through a home-cooked meal, a listening ear, or a safe place to stay, she cared for countless people with kindness and generosity.
Her faith was the foundation of her life. She faithfully served through Sunday School as both teacher and superintendent, Awana, Vacation Bible School, Bible studies, the church coffee bar, and as a school volunteer.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Carroll Chateauvert and Doris Hersom, her granddaughter, Shana Newcombe and brother- in-law Robert Harris.
She is survived by her devoted husband, David Pottle Sr.; her children, David Pottle Jr., Daniel Pottle (Sarah), Doreen Newcombe (Bob), and Carolee Smith (Mike); her grandchildren, Amanda Warren, Asia Phelps (William), Ashlynn Smith, Samson Newcombe (Melissa), Alison Saucier (Camden), Gavin Pottle, Nicholas Kay, and Dylan Pottle; and her great-grandchildren, Logan Grover, Zachary Grover, Alivia Warren, Lilly Newcombe, Jaxson Newcombe, Kinley Killcollins, Emmalyn Phelps, Judson Newcombe, Alden Phelps, and soon-to-arrive Baby Saucier. Mimi is also survived by her Sisters Donna Harris, Joan Bailey (Everett), Debra Bowie (Ed), her brothers Leland Chateauvert (Elaine), Norman Hersom (Siv).
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 14 at 4:00 p.m. at Grace Community Chapel, 187 Lewiston Road, West Gardiner, Maine. In true Mimi fashion, a dessert reception will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Community Chapel's youth ministries.
