Peter R. Cameron

Pete Cameron

LITCHFIELD - It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Peter R. Cameron on August 19, 2026, following a 4-year battle with cancer.

Born on March 7, 1957, Pete was the son of Robert and Jean Cameron of Pittston. He was a graduate of Gardiner High School, class of 1975.

After graduation, Pete worked as a carpenter throughout most of his life.  After the birth of his daughter, he went to work briefly at Bath Iron Works from 1980 to 1985 where within 4 months of employment, he was promoted to back up lead man. Pete had a true gift as a carpenter - sometimes that was more than just a profession, it was part of who he was. Pete built a strong reputation for his workmanship, loyalty, and honesty to his customers.

Pete enjoyed traveling to Newfoundland with his family, up until his life-changing diagnosis left him unable to do so.  He also enjoyed working on his many projects like tinkering on engines and building things.  He loved watching sports. He was a Patriots fan. He also loved classic cars, especially Mopar.

He had a strong sense of family and hard work.  Family was the center of Pete's life. He will be dearly remembered by his wife Betty Cameron, daughter April Cameron-Goodwin of Litchfield, son Brandon Cameron of Wasilla Alaska, grandson Tristan Goodwin, granddaughter Abby Goodwin, grandson Connor Jenney, and "brother" Brian Holman of Fayette.

Pete is preceded by his parents, sister Bonnie, and a brother David.

Per Pete's request, there will not be any services held at this time.
