Todd P. Switzer, 68, of Augusta, Maine, left this world for his next adventure on September 21, 2026. Todd was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts on July 4, 1958, the son of Dr. Efrain Carlos Galarraga, MD and Joyce C.(Lemanski) Galarraga.
Todd initially started his early educational years in the Chicopee, Massachusetts school department and later continued his education in Augusta when his family moved to Maine.
Todd was employed for many years at RS Sea Food in Portland, Maine. He was a warehouse supervisor, fish cutter, forklift operator and, on many occasions, a deck hand on the boats when extra help was needed at sea.
Todd took great pride in this line of work and would often come home from hard day’s work covered in scales from head to toe! He didn’t smell too pleasant, either. He worked many hours of overtime and loved spending time with his fisherman buddies. His favorite sea food was scallops fresh off the boat. Todd never met a scallop he didn’t like.
Todd eventually left RS Sea Foods to follow his brother, Danny, into the carpet and flooring industry. Todd worked with his brother for ten years and was a master installer. Todd would often do side jobs for his friends’ homes and investment properties and was always happy to help them with their projects.
The many years of being a fisherman and floor installer took a hard toll on Todd’s body, and he eventually left this field and took a job with his other brother’s family business, Maine Vocational Rehabilitation Associates. Todd was a job coach assisting disabled individuals in retail job settings.
Todd eventually retired and for the last 14 years, he enjoyed spending time with his cat, Shadow. He loved being with his friends and with his family. Todd loved heavy metal music, and he liked to crank it up as often as possible. He also enjoyed fishing, playing scratch tickets and an ice-cold beer! He was a gentle, sweet soul and enjoyed a good laugh with his friends, especially George. He would do anything for anybody and literally give you the shirt off his back if you needed one.
Todd was predeceased by his parents, Efrain and Joyce, brothers, Danny and John, his sister, Ruth and his cat, Shadow. He is survived by his brother Charles (Mary), sister-in-law, Betty, uncle Willie and his daughter Jennifer Chapman, many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Todd will be laid to rest at Saint Mary’s cemetery, in Manchester, Maine in a graveside committal service to be announced in October.
